Return to topThis project’s ultimate outcome is to enhance equitable and inclusive literacy and life skills for host and internally displaced children (ages 6-12), including girls and children living with disabilities (CLWDs), in Gao and Mopti regions of Mali. 1) Grade 4 reading proficiency: increase from 13% at baseline to 31% at midline.
2) Life skills: slight decrease from 44% at baseline to 42% at midline.
3) The percentage of children reporting parental support at home for their studies increased from 39% at baseline to 73% at midline (from 34% to 81% for girls).

All CBOs report collaborating with local education actors.
Many local education actors perceive CBOs as making a valuable contribution to promoting Gender Responsive and Inclusive Quality Learning Opportunities (GRIQLO). Children in several schools at midline (particularly IDP and girls) report a more welcoming and inclusive school environment.
Local education authorities report that teachers are using more games, interactive activities, and inclusive methods in the classroom.
