The project aims to:
1) Improve sustainable subsistence practices to reduce food security gaps for women and their families.
2) Reduce gender-specific barriers and protection risks, particularly with respect to the increasing rates of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) affecting women and girls.

The project will directly help 1,300 households, with the objective of having 80% of these households headed by women and reaching approximately 6,000 people (2,000 women, 2,000 girls, 750 men, 1,250 boys). At least 1,000 households will be targeted for livelihood activities and 1,500 women and 2,000 girls will be affected and benefit from the protection component. In addition, 2,000 individuals (1,000 women, 500 girls, 250 men, 250 boys), including community leaders and young men and boys, will be directly targeted for advocacy and awareness. In addition, it is estimated that 1,000 people will be affected and indirectly benefit from the project’s various activities through awareness raising efforts regarding protection and the prevention of sexual and gender-based violence.
– Development of seven training sessions for seven women’s groups in the State of Táchira community to develop and implement their revenue generating business plans/activities with a gender and associative approach. Total participation included 123 women from six communities in the State of Táchira;
– Development of 36 community awareness and public art campaigns developed on women’s rights and prevention of protection risks, including the prevention of gender-based violence with the participation of 1,718 direct beneficiaries;
– Development of 13 community dialogue sessions between women’s groups, community leaders and influential authorities on women’s rights, gender-based violence, masculinity construction and protection issues;
– Training sessions for 45 beneficiary members of women’s groups/networks on the following topics: 1) prevention of gender-based violence (GBV), 2) women’s rights, 3) transformative leadership for women’s rights, 4) feminist principles and feminist influence in humanitarian action, 5) masculinity construction and 6) co-responsibility for home and community care work;
– First response and guidance support for women and their families who have survived or who are at risk of experiencing gender-based violence: 451 referred cases;
– Number of cases processed: 1,237 cases.
