In response to Malawi’s alarming maternal and infant mortality rates, the maternity ward provides a safe and clean environment for mothers to give birth, reducing birth risks. The facility also carries out preventative action by providing antenatal services that greatly decrease the risk of HIV/AIDS transmission from mother to child during birth.
