Description

In Ethiopia, frequent droughts, conflicts, malnutrition, and disease outbreaks impede the country’s progress towards providing high-quality healthcare and nutrition to all citizens. The project aims to enhance the nutritional status of pregnant and lactating women and children under five. Activities include:

Nutrition: organize nurturing care groups and train them in maternal, infant, and young child nutrition and hygiene practices; train health extension workers and health workers on various health and nutrition topics; identify and connect malnourished children under the age of five, as well as pregnant and lactating women, to health facilities or nutrition service provision sites; raise awareness about health and nutrition practices; and conduct cooking demonstrations.

Livelihood: provide inputs such as pulse, vegetable seeds, and poultry to 310 pregnant and lactating women.
