This intervention seeks to improve socio economic conditions of 4364 widowed families through livelihood support, healthcare, psychosocial support, education and building their capacity through social empowerment in Rawalpindi, Islamabad and Muzaffarabad. Under the previous EWIN project, IRP equipped guardian/mothers from sponsored orphan families with different vocational skills. IRP intends to build upon previous interventions through providing business grants to widows after graduating from vocational skills training. Furthermore, this project urges to improve the health status of widows and their families through developing linkages with healthcare service providers. Linkages will be built with free healthcare facilities in the project locale. In addition to this, 30 higher education scholarships will be provided to selected students from widowed families on merit base.
