The project works to contribute to the improvement of the quality of education for primary school students in Gaza through a holistic, all-encompassing approach supporting their right to a safe and positive learning environment in schools. The project plans to achieve its goal through improving academic performance and building the resilience of the targeted school children, enhance their psychosocial wellbeing, and strengthen the leadership and life skills of them. The project targets around 400 children from the 3rd to 9th level; 280 children were from the previous project and needed to be followed up within their new grades to ensure improving their performance education within the different project activities. 180 new students were targeted, according to the selection criteria, and involved in remedial classes. The new children were inspired to join various project activities after participating in honouring ceremony and observed role models of their peers. The project witnessed a noted improvement of the targeted children’s academic levels with a ratio of 42.4% at the end of the first semester of 2020. Moreover, the targeted children, through the winter season, produced educational games and art tools, continued processes of child-led academic research, had fun through two educational trips, benefitted from the expressive art activities, and dreamed of their future jobs. The team continued its services, primarily through the coronavirus crisis, and conducted remedial classes, individual and group psychological online.
