Description

The project will address the critical protection and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) needs of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Ethiopia’ s conflict-affected Tigray region. Project activities include: (1) providing unconditional cash grants, shelter materials, and essential household items to affected households; and (2) restoring damaged water and sanitation facilities serving IDP sites and host communities. The project also includes a longer-term development component, through which CLWR will address gender equality, economic empowerment and local climate change resilience by, respectively, (3) supporting livelihoods and income-generating activities for women and other vulnerable people; and (4) developing community-level climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies.
