Description

Through this project some of the most marginalized families in North Gaza will receive weekly fresh food parcels for five weeks during the Holy Month of Ramadan, to enable them to meet their minimum food requirements and re-allocate their limited resources to other family essentials. As in the previous Ramadan Food Parcels projects, the fresh food items in this project will be purchased from struggling farmers and producers, (including female farmers and women’s cooperatives from agriculture projects funded by IDRF from 2018 till now). These freshly harvested crops and fresh food items will be packaged and then distributed to impoverished families. This innovative approach will bring a double benefit during Ramadan to a greater number of struggling families and will contribute towards improving their food security and supporting the agriculture and livelihood sectors in Gaza.
