Description

The Sustainable Development, Human Rights, Inclusion and Equality (SHINE) Project aims to enhance the empowerment of women and girls through the implementation of sustainable agriculture and women-led agribusiness-related groups in targeted districts in Ethiopia and Ghana. The Project is implemented in regions that are characterized as having i) traditional agricultural practices with limited diversification, ii) an absence of agri-business enterprises for value chains for marketing agricultural products and iii) chronic food insecurity and poverty. The Project not only aims to increase women’s economic opportunities in sustainable agriculture, but also seeks to improve the enabling environment and women’s agency through broader, community-level activities.
