The VOICE project is Cuso International’s primary international program which works to improve the economic and social well-being of poor and marginalized communities in targeted countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean.
One of the project’s three program areas for the VOICE project is Access to Quality Health Services (AQHS). Under this program area, Cuso International focuses on RMNCH. Please note that the data included here is only for the countries working on AQHS, which is one component of the VOICE project.

2.522 direct and 165.337 indirect beneficiaries reached under the AQHS activities of the VOICE project in FY 2017-2018. The project engaged 38 AQHS partners, out of which 7 were newly established partnerships in the referenced FY. The project activities were distributed across 6 countries (Nigeria, Ethiopia, DRC, Tanzania, Benin and Guyana). 30 volunteers were deployed to those countries in 2017-18 while 34 e-volunteers supported the partners remotely. Benin, DRC and Nigeria continued receiving capacity development funds in FY 2017-18.
2,515 direct beneficiaries of AQHS programming reached in FY 2016-17 and 185,503 indirect beneficiaries reached in the same period. The project worked with 21 AQHS partners in five countries. Eight of these were new partnerships developed in FY 2016-17. In FY 2016-17, 33 AQHS volunteers and 14 AQHS e-volunteers were deployed. Capacity development funds were provided to Benin, DRC, Ethiopia, Nigeria and Tanzania for health related activities.
