Description


Visiting the Mayagna community of Amak on the Bocay River in December 2024, it was communicated to the Change for Children team that their world-bank financed water system was in need of repair, rehabilitation and expansion. In early January 2025, CFC sent in a team of surveyors who are currently preparing the budget request to be able to repair and expand this system with work commencing in February/March of 2025.

Results & Indicators


Expected Results


Visiting the Mayagna community of Amak on the Bocay River in December 2024, it was communicated to the Change for Children team that their world-bank financed water system was in need of repair, rehabilitation and expansion.

Achieved Results


After years without safe and accessible water, all 245 families in Amak now have household taps. The system also supplies the church, school, community centre, and Indigenous government

office.
