Wi Lead: Women with Disabilities Leading for Equality and Inclusion

Wi Lead by Sabi (“We lead by example”) was a gender-transformative innovation that sought to address gender and disability discrimination as intersecting dimensions of women’s identities. It was a locally designed initiative that empowered women living with physical disabilities in Sierra Leone to demonstrate their capacity to contribute to and lead in their community, resulting in shifting community norms and decision-making around disability, gender equality, education, and sexual and reproductive health.

The objective of this concurrent session is to support participants to reflect on and adapt women- and youth-led, community-driven approaches to gender and disability inclusion.
