100 Days of a Pandemic: Canada’s Evidence-Driven Global Response

CanWaCH’s new 100 Days of a Pandemic report reveals the impact of COVID-19 on the global health sector with insights from over 100 Canadian organizations, members and global partners. The landmark report includes a list of resources, a map of COVID-related projects currently undertaken by Canadian organizations and a ‘By the Numbers’ breakdown of what we heard. We graciously thank everyone who contributed to this important report. CanWaCH Bids Fond Farewell to Helen Scott

After 10 years leading the organization that began as the Canadian Network for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (CAN-MNCH), CanWaCH CEO Helen Scott is moving on to new adventures as of July 31. CanWaCH Board Chair Stan Zlotkin shared his words of appreciation for Helen’s contributions to the organization when her departure was announced last month. Please see Helen’s own words of farewell here. We thank Helen for her dedication to advancing the health and lives of women and children and wish her the very best in her exciting next chapter.

Solving urgent data challenges in global health and gender equality

Throughout June, we spotlighted projects undertaken by the Canadian Collaborative for Global Health with a three-part webinar series. Our Collaborative partners shared the innovative ways they are incubating solutions to critical data gaps in three areas: access to abortion careadolescent health and the relationship between women and girls’ empowerment and nutrition. Gender Equality Guide for COVID-related projects

Global Affairs Canada (GAC)’s gender equality guide demonstrates how to integrate gender equality principles into COVID-19 projects to ensure that the projects adhere to the Feminist International Assistance Policy (FIAP), the National Action Plan on Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) and GAC’s Policy on Gender Equality.
