OTTAWA, March 12, 2026 — The Canadian Partnership for Women and Children’s Health (CanWaCH) applauds today’s announcement by the Honourable Anita Anand and the Honourable Randeep Sarai regarding $37.7 million in funding for humanitarian assistance for Lebanon.
“Investments like those announced today, which support access to essential medical and health services, are crucial to the lives and well-being of the communities living under escalating conflict and violence,” said CanWaCH CEO Caitlin Goggin. “Canada’s continued investment in humanitarian assistance plays an important role in supporting frontline organizations working to meet urgent needs in Lebanon and the wider region.”
CanWaCH and our members remain committed to working alongside partners across government, civil society and the global community to address the health rights and needs of the world’s most marginalized people.
We also join calls for the protection of civilians, health and humanitarian workers, and for all parties to uphold international humanitarian law as efforts continue to address the growing humanitarian needs in Lebanon.
