Postponement of the CanWaCH Global Health Impact Expo + Exchange

Along with our members and partners, the Canadian Partnership for Women and Children’s Health (CanWaCH) continues to be very concerned by and is closely monitoring the public health implications associated with COVID-19. After careful consideration of all factors, including yesterday’s confirmation by the World Health Organization that the virus is a pandemic, CanWaCH has decided to postpone the Global Health Impact Expo + Exchange that was scheduled to take place in Ottawa, Canada on April 28-29, 2020.

We believe that this decision is in the best interests of our staff, members, partners and all participants in the GHI Expo + Exchange, as well as being supportive of public health authorities’ efforts to curtail the spread of the virus.

At this time, our plan is to postpone the event to November 2020 to be held adjacent to our Annual General Meeting. All arrangements with speakers, exhibitors, youth bursary applicants, the venue, hotels, contractors, etc. remain in place and will be rescheduled to November. Winners of the annual CanWaCH Awards for Excellence in Global Health and Gender Equality will be announced in April but the presentation of awards will take place at the GHI Expo + Exchange on the newly-scheduled November date.

CanWaCH will share further details on the rescheduled Global Health Impact Expo + Exchange as they are confirmed. Should you have any questions about the implications of this postponement, please do not hesitate to contact Charmaine Crockett, Director of Stakeholder Engagement.
