#EveryoneBenefits from Gender Equality

September 22-28, 2019 will mark Canada’s second annual Gender Equality Week! To celebrate this event, CanWaCH is pleased to announce the return of the Gender Equality Blog Series. This monthly blog, 5 Reasons Why Gender Equality (Still) Matters, will highlight CanWaCH members and partners to encourage dialogue, share knowledge and amplify their work to promote gender equality here at home and abroad. If you are interested in contributing, please contact Erin Jex, CanWaCH’s Gender Equality Officer.

Going to UNGA? Celebrate Canada’s Gender Equality Week with CanWaCH

In celebration of Canada’s Gender Equality Week during the 74th United Nations General Assembly, CanWaCH invites you to join us on Monday, September 23rd in New York for a series of rapidfire talks from powerful women who defy stereotypes, shun political boundaries and blaze their own path to champion gender equality regardless of their role, affiliation or organization.

Brought to you with the support of Teck. Teck’s Zinc & Health partnership with the Government of Canada, Nutrition International and UNICEF Canada has educated and employed more than 300,000 female community health workers around the world to help advance gender equality.

Summit on Canada’s Global Leadership

Early bird registration for the Summit on Canada’s Global Leadership, presented in partnership with CanWaCH, CCIC and CASID, ends on September 30th. Taking place November 27 and 28 in Ottawa, and featuring the CanWaCH 2019 AGM, the Summit is an event you don’t want to miss! It will bring leaders together from different global sectors to examine the potential for a more ambitious and comprehensive foreign policy. Follow all updates with the Summit Twitter channel, @GlobalSummitCAN and the Summit newsletter!

Attending conferences can be expensive and youth are key constituents in Canada’s global activities and in achieving the SDGs. In order to support meaningful youth engagement at the conference, the Summit Partners, along with our Youth Sponsors, Engineers Without Borders and World University Service of Canada, are excited to present this opportunity for youth bursaries. Apply now!
