CPHIA side event: Defeating malaria through equitable partnerships

Dear colleagues and partners attending the 2023 Conference on Public Health in Africa,

You are warmly invited to a side event entitled “Defeating malaria through equitable partnerships” organized by Medicines for Malaria Venture and The Tropical Diseases Research Centre, Zambia.

While significant strides have been made in the last two decades to defeat malaria, today, progress is stalling. In 2021, malaria claimed nearly 619,000 lives worldwide and over 245 million malaria cases were reported. Over the years, many partnerships have worked to achieving the goal of eradicating malaria.

In this side event, experts will shed light on how equitable partnerships between key stakeholders in malaria-endemic countries and other actors in the global malaria community can be the building blocks for the development of sustainable R&D and access strategies for malaria elimination.
