In a world where the most marginalized are most affected by climate change, structural inequalities due to sexism and ableism exacerbate women’s poverty and prevent them from engaging in transformative action. Speakers will tackle the pressing persisting challenges faced by women with intersecting identities ; showing how women with disabilities in Rwanda are agents of change, promoting gender- and disability-just climate adaptation. An intersectional indigenous perspective from Kenya will be discussed. Practitioners will explore Inclusive gender budgeting in local government (Uganda) and improved access to financial services for rural disabled women (Senegal) as successful innovations to eradicate poverty.
