Dr. Henry M. Lugobe
Dr. Henry Mark Lugobe (MBCHB, M.MED) is a junior faculty member in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mbarara University of Science and Technology, the leading academic research institution in western Uganda. He completed his residency training in OB/GYN at the Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST). As a practicing physician at the Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital / Mbarara University of Science and Technology, Dr. Lugobe’s central focus is to improve the care of patients, particularly maternal and newborn outcomes in this resource-limited setting. His research interest is high risk obstetrics including hypertensive disorders in pregnancy as well as maternal and perinatal mortality audits to improve obstetric outcomes. Dr. Lugobe’s long-term career goal is to become an independent academic clinician with expertise in developing, testing, and implementing innovative strategies to improve maternal and newborn outcomes.
