Reproductive Health Internship in Vietnam

This internship will support HealthBridge and the Global Affairs Canada funded project “Health System Resiliency for Improved Sexual, Reproductive Health and Rights in Bangladesh, Nepal and Vietnam”. It will also support HealthBridge to develop other projects in the area of sexual, reproductive, maternal and child health and rights (SRMCH), and nutrition & food security. The position will be based in Hanoi, Vietnam and may include occasional travel to field sites.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Following is an outline of tasks that may be included in the internship; the internship will be tailored according to current HealthBridge needs as well as the intern’s interests and competencies.

• Support the project manager with project programming related to SRMCH and nutrition & food security.
• Contribute to interpreting and disseminating the project baseline data including conducting additional data analysis and preparing knowledge dissemination materials based on the data such as infographics and presentations.
• Contribute to developing monitoring tools for project activities and provide technical input for context appropriate evaluation techniques by conducting literature review and community profiling, as needed.
• Contribute to draft project reports for the project funder Global Affairs Canada including the Annual Workplan.
• Support HealthBridge Vietnam as needed to develop other SRMCH or nutrition & food security projects by reviewing and analyzing literature, national strategies, policies and laws, especially for vulnerable groups including factory workers, particularly female workers/migrant women.
• Conduct a literature review on a topic related to SRHR & GE or nutrition & food security. Exact topic will be defined in consultation with the intern.
• Edit narrative reports and other communication materials in English.
• Support project data management including data entry and data analysis.
• Produce knowledge translations materials such as infographics, as needed.
• Develop communications materials (eg. Social media posts, web updates, impact stories).
• Contribute to drafting abstracts and presentations for events and manuscripts for peer reviewed journals, as needed.

Deliverables

• A detailed work plan covering activities and outputs that will be developed at the beginning of the internship, in collaboration with the supervisor.
• A literature review completed (exact topic to be determined).
• Tools developed for project MEL, if applicable.
• Knowledge dissemination materials developed based on the project baseline data.
• Communications materials developed and finalized, including social media posts with photos, web updates, impact stories with photos, and infographics, as needed.
• Entry and analysis of data collected in the field.

Education/Qualifications

• Minimum a bachelor’s degree in global health, public health or an adjacent field
• Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident

Experience

• Experience conducting literature reviews
• Experience conducting field research is an advantage
• Experience with quantitative and qualitative data management
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Experience working on global health and development projects, working in the field, working on SRMCH and/or nutrition and food security projects, and experience with monitoring and evaluation are assets
• Strong organizational and time management skills as well as an ability to work
  independently

Language Skills

Oral and written fluency in English essential. Capacity in other languages is desirable; Vietnamese is an asset.

Length of Internship

Six-month placement starting in September 2026 (with some flexibility)

Compensation

This is an unpaid internship, however travel to and from the location will be paid for by HealthBridge as well as an allowance for living expenses.
