The ultimate outcome of the “Women in Action” project is to increase adaptation to climate change (CC) by 4,500 vulnerable young women and women, including Indigenous and internally displaced people, in the agricultural, agroforestry and forestry sectors of the Walikale, Mwenga, Kabare and Kalehe regions, while making a significant contribution to forest conservation.

1. Increased and equitable adoption of nature-based solutions (NBS) for climate change adaptation (CCA) and the restoration/conservation of forest biodiversity by and for the benefit of young women and women in agriculture and forestry
2. Increased control by young women and women of resources and decisions within their group and household necessary for growth and the CCA of their revenue-generating activities (RGA) with benefits in terms of forest biodiversity
3. Increased influence of young women and women in communities, public services and the private sector regarding the consideration of their rights, issues and solutions for CCA and forest biodiversity restoration/conservation
