This past February, the Demographic Health Survey (DHS) Program, a cornerstone of health data in many countries, saw its funding discontinued. The second webinar in our June two-part series zooms out to present the larger demographic health data landscape and ecosystem. It will include an overview of what remains from the DHS Program, and how gaps might be addressed. Guest speakers will be invited to share their perspectives on how demographic health data systems might be reimagined, focused on themes of cost efficiencies, data quality, sustainability and local ownership.

Our Montréal Dialogue takes place on July 7! Hosted in Old Montréal from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. EDT, the evening provides an opportunity to casually connect with professionals and colleagues from across the CanWaCH membership and international cooperation sector. English and French participation is welcome!

On May 26 and 27, CanWaCH hosted a gathering of the Pan-Canadian Women’s Health Coalition, bringing together research Hubs from across the country. Participants refined messaging, exchanged best practices and co-developed strategies, all with the purpose of elevating the visibility and urgency of women and gender-diverse people’s health research in Canada. Breakout sessions centered on storytelling, engagement strategies and collaborative case-building — laying the groundwork for transforming research into influence, and influence into change.
Following the first day of the gathering, CanWaCH hosted a Vancouver Dialogue! The evening brought together CanWaCH members, Hub representatives and sector partners with a shared interest in advancing women’s and gender-diverse people’s health. The event saw attendees explore opportunities for future collaboration, exchange ideas and learn more about each other’s efforts.
