Women Deliver 2019: Putting CanWaCH Members on the Map

Women Deliver is less than a month away and we look forward to seeing many of you in Vancouver! CanWaCH is eager to capture the wide array of unofficial side events and online campaigns or initiatives that many CanWaCH members are organizing alongside the conference. Please complete this form no later than Friday, May 10th to include your activities in our outreach tools in the lead up to Women Deliver.

See you at the Canada Pavilion!

Less than a 10-minute walk from the Vancouver Convention Centre, the Canada Pavilion, powered by CanWaCH and the Women Deliver 2019 Mobilization Canada, will be the go-to-location for Canadian events hosted alongside the Women Deliver conference. We are thrilled to be hosting over 40 events by CanWaCH Members and Women Deliver 2019 Mobilization Canada Mobilizers. The preliminary schedule is online now! Please note that this schedule only includes finalized events. Additional events details and updates will be provided on a regular basis.

Take part in the #WeDeliver2019 Month of Action!

Join the rallying cry for unity in gender equality and women’s empowerment. With less than one month until Women Deliver 2019, NOW is the time to take action! Make your voice heard during Women Deliver 2019 Mobilization Canada’s Month of Action by following these easy steps:

  1. Share why gender equality matters to you! Have your voice heard alongside CanWaCH Members, Mobilizers, Ministers and the Prime Minister.
  2. Add the Month of Action photo frame to your social media profiles.
  3. Take this quiz about how you implement your feminist values to see where you excel and where you can take more action.
  4. Show support for our Action Area by signing our Legacy Declaration.

Even though we have made significant progress, we cannot realize our full potential without the full participation of everyone! Let everyone know you have taken action by using #WeDeliver2019 on social media.

Lights, camera, Lead On Canada!

To celebrate World Immunization Week, CanWaCH’s Acting Executive Director Julia Anderson, sat down with GAVI Deputy CEO Anuradha Gupta and award-winning journalist Kimothy Walker for an in-depth conversation about the role that vaccination plays in Canada’s leadership in global health. In particular, they discussed Canada’s long-term support for GAVI’s innovative vaccination model, the anti-vaxxer movement, and why Canadian leadership in women and children’s health should be a point of pride for Canadians!

Humanity & Inclusion Canada: “When the water shook”

Humanity & Inclusion is proud to present “When the water shook”, a web series that gives a face to victims of natural disasters who can, at any time, be injured, lose their homes and suddenly change lives. Nirmala, 11, a survivor of the earthquake that hit Nepal four years ago, tells us her story.
