For the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, Biphobia (IDAHOTB), Dignity Network Canada, along with our member organizations EGIDES and Fondation Emergence are organizing a virtual panel discussion with activists from several countries across the Francophonie. We are excited to have Erykah Werner (Egides, Canada/Rwanda), Melody Boateng (Syngerie Trans, Benin), Soufiane Hennani (la collectif Elille), Pegguy Ngangue (Elles Cameroun), and Jean-Daniel Ndikumanna (EDDIB, Burundi/Belgique) in conversation with our Board Member, Carlos Idibouo (Canada/Côte d’Ivoire). This event is partly sponsored by Global Affairs Canada with the support of the AGIRI Fund. Note: This event is on TUESDAY, MAY 18th (11h00 Ottawa/Montréal, 15h00 Abidjdan, 16h00 Rabat/Kinshasa, 17h00 Bruxelles/Bujumbura)
We hope that this will be a really interesting and important conversation on intersectionality and transnational solidarity – and what it means for these leaders and their organizations during these times. Please join us and feel free to share this invite with others in your networks who might be interested in this conversation.
The session is in French but there will be live interpretation in English. If you don’t speak French, this is a great opportunity to learn about some north-south LGBTIQ solidarity efforts across la Francophone.
