Entering medicine, I knew I wanted to develop skills and perspectives beyond the traditional biomedical model of health and disease. While clinical knowledge is essential, it is insufficient on its own to address the structural forces that shape health outcomes.
It was this determination that guided Human Concern International (HCI) as it launched a project designed to strengthen the foundations of learning and well-being in the community.

I was drawn to the CanWaCH delegation as I resonated with the organization’s vision of “a world where women, children and adolescents, in all their diversity, realize their right to thrive in full health.”
I wanted to attend ICFP 2025 because the conference is one of the few global platforms where research, policy, implementation, and lived experience converge to shape the future of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR).
