This past April, you were asked to complete a survey about your CanwaCH membership experience. We’re grateful that so many of you took the time to respond and provide thoughtful feedback. After analyzing the responses, we took some time to prepare a summary report you can now read here. We look forward to another productive year of learning, connection and collaboration.
The new CanWaCH membership year begins on October 1, 2023! Check your inbox for a renewal invoice that was sent via our membership platform, GlueUp, on August 28. Per our policies, your annual CanWaCH membership renews automatically and your organization’s invoice is payable in advance of our Annual General Meeting in order to validate your voting status.

September 17 to 23 marks Canada’s annual Gender Equality Week! Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday for Integrating Gender Equality to Humanitarian Action, the first of our three-part webinar series to mark this important week. Our upcoming webinars take place on Wednesdays, September 20 and 27, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. EDT. Please note that you will have to register for each session individually. Simultaneous interpretation will be available.
The Equal Futures Network, a CanWaCH initiative, will be marking the week with an incubator session celebrating the important work being done to drive progress for gender equality in Canada and to keep the momentum going for the future of our collective gender equality work. Register here!

The 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly will see world leaders gather from September 19-23 and 26 to engage in the annual high-level General Debate under the theme, “Rebuilding trust and reigniting global solidarity: Accelerating action on the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals towards peace, prosperity, progress and sustainability for all.”

September 25-30 marks Truth and Reconciliation Week with September 30 marking the third annual National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This year, the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation is offering a series of free virtual ‘lunch and learns’ throughout the week with sessions on systemic discrimination, debunking stereotypes and taking action towards reconciliation and more. August 20-24 marked World Water Week placing a focus on innovation at a time of unprecedented challenges.
